A bit *more* about me...

Hi! My name's Mimi. I grew up on the North Shore of Massachusetts and in the Northern Virginia area. So, yes, I use the words "wicked" and "y'all" in the same sentences, and I, too, am weirded out by it. I moved to New York a little over a year ago, so the existential crises are starting to simmer down! I'm really loving the things I'm learning and the people I'm meeting along the way.

I have always been a storyteller: whether it was putting on "ice skating shows" in slippery socks on my kitchen floor, singing "Dream On" with my theatre pals in a nursing home performance (and only later realizing how inappropriate the lyrics were in that setting), or originating roles in provocative plays at my University - I have always sought out opportunities to connect with others through the deeply moving process of creating and experiencing art.

I graduated from the University of Virginia in 2018 with a B.A. in Drama; while at UVA, I was heavily involved with the Department of Drama as an actor, playwright, filmmaker, and ambassador for the program. I was involved, also, with Kappa Delta Sorority, UVA's student-run newspaper, and multiple student theatre groups.

In addition to my love of acting, I also am passionate about writing and directing. In my final years at UVA, I spearheaded a few projects I am particularly proud of: One being, a production of Pride and Prejudice that I directed outdoors in one of UVA's stunning English Gardens. The other, a short film entitled More and Less that I wrote and directed with the help of an incredible team of women. I am grateful to have cultivated my creative impulses in an array of disciplines, and I believe wholeheartedly that my experiences in writing and directing have made me a better actor, and person.

In addition to my work as an actor/writer/director, I also work as an Admissions Associate, educational staff member, student advisor, and coach with Broadway Artists Alliance, New York City's top musical theatre training program for children and young adults. Enabling people of all backgrounds to tell stories with their own unique voices is a passion of mine, and I am thrilled to be able to be a part of a team that is dedicated to educating and supporting Broadway's next generation! I also work seasonally with the Montclair Film Festival as their Development Coordinator, and have loved playing a part in engaging audiences with new, diverse, and vibrant stories.

More and Less - written/directed by Mimi Robinson (Harlow)

More and Less follows the story of Jane, a young woman who’s abandoned her fiancé and a fear of a monotonous, stifling marriage. An elderly stranger, Ada, has taken her in for the time being, and the two form a unique friendship over their shared experiences of independence and solitude. But when an unlikely visitor discovers Jane’s whereabouts, Ada and Jane must consider that the cost of freedom is higher and harsher than they care to admit.

Check out some of my wonderful collaborators, while you're at it!
